the idea of group thinking and what it means is new to me,
here are the posts from another web forum that tells it better than I can
this was a reply to someone Else's question
"Any time you manage to get outside the "group think," or the land of the Pod People as I prefer to call them, then yes you've also managed to make yourself a kind of social outcast. At first this can be distressing because you can't reason with pod people. Group think is the end goal of the social system. Without group think the system cannot exist a we know it.
I'm amazed at how poorly I understood all this previously. It's like my life has been a quest to understand group think and it's origins. Generally speaking, maintaining the illusion (which creates group think) is the primary objective of the secret civilization. I feel stupid now that I understand this better. I spent so much time fighting against something I couldn't possibly change."
then they changed the answer they had posted to something a bit different, but I think it should have been added
"So ya know...that last took me a little thought to put together, but yes this is exactly what I'm talking about. Being concerned with the "supposed issues of the group," and which are being artificially injected in to the consciousness of the herd as worthy concerns. So you see, it's not that I hate sports, or music, or model airplanes. What I do hate is how the central planning committee has the power to use all of these things for purposes which suit their long term objectives.
Very perceptive of you to tack that on.
Anyone who's experienced the military has some experience being/living outside the pod. It is a pod unto itself. Anyone who's had certain experiences can also find they have views which are hardened and outside the pod. Some of these experiences contain their own pods. Religious groups and so-called cults are examples. Generally this is not a problem for the system as long as these groups do not stray too far from the interests of the social engineers. The talisman as Clif calls them, but even then that too can either created or used productively by the system as it s' propaganda machine is overwhelming. At least until this invention of the internet and computers. It now remains to be seen if the hive can now begin to think for itself as result or whether or not the queen bee will attempt to cut off this line of communication. "
here was my reply
"this idea never crossed my mind
I am amazed that I never noticed
that idea really fixes lots of my questions and answers"
and there reply
"I know huh?
It reminds me of what Winston Churchill said; " Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened."
What I am thinking here by using that quote is in regards to the education system. That is, tell someone that sending their kid to school is not helping them and then see the look you get. See, you've gone outside the group think. Now ya got to realize I believe in schooling. Just not the schooling we are receiving is all, but the point is that this is an example of making statements without realizing you're leaving the group thinking on the topic. When you do that you're going to get major resistance. Only the most open mind will be willing to investigate what you're proposing."
just thought I would share with this new to me idea that shows me where I am in life
